ACCOUNTS PAYABLE RECOVERY AUDIT
Management Team:
Donald S. Moody, founder, leads the recovery audit services and consulting services practice. In this capacity, he assists organizations in the areas of growth and financial management and specializes in the recovery of lost profits.
Donald began his career in 1985 with a big five accounting firm, where he gained a solid foundation in auditing. From 1989 through 1997 Donald worked for three different organizations as Controller, C.F.O. and V.P. of Operations. His primary responsibilities with these organizations were controlling growth, reducing expenses and implementing strategies to take advantage of synergies with acquired companies.
From 1997 through June of 2002, Donald was a Director (Partner) with one of the fastest growing CPA firms in the country, where in 1999 he expanded the firm's Tax Recovery Services to include Accounts Payable Recovery Auditing. This soon became the firm's fastest growing and largest division.
Donald has worked closely with many Fortune 500 companies, providing them with recovery audit services. His clients have covered industries to include retail, technology, manufacturing, distribution, financial services, health care, and universities.
Donald is a graduate of The University of South Carolina and a member of SCACPA, AICPA, the International Accounts Payable Professionals, and the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
As a Director with Moody Associates, P.A., Garrett’s responsibilities include engagement management, business development and management of Client relationships. Garrett also serves as director of the technology group. In this capacity, he ensures that Moody Associates, P.A. remains on the cutting edge of technology by providing our Clients and empowering our auditors with the technological tools necessary to maximize the effectiveness of the audit.
Garrett has over 14 years of financial management experience, which has been accumulated with both a Big Five Professional Services Firm and two multi-billion dollar corporations in the manufacturing sector. Prior to joining Moody Associates, P.A., Garrett’s responsibilities included, but were not limited to, coordination of annual business plans, ERP systems implementations, quoting new business, financial modeling to assess the feasibility of proposed business opportunities, establishment and maintenance of standard costs using Activity Based Costing techniques, variance analysis, and both internal and external financial reporting.
Garrett received his MBA from Charleston Southern University with an emphasis in Information Systems Management and received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin at Parkside. Garrett is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Board of Visitors of Charleston Southern University and the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
As a Director with Moody Associates, P.A., Brian’s responsibilities include engagement management, business development and management of Client relationships.
Brian has over 15 years of financial management and audit experience, including various financial and accounting positions within Fortune 1000 companies. Responsibilities in these positions included, but were not limited to, general accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, coordinating annual audits, developing policies, procedures and controls, assisting with accounting system conversions and communicating with all levels of management.
From 2001 to 2005 Brian was with a CPA firm where he worked closely with many Fortune 500 companies providing them with recovery audit, contract compliance audits/reviews, health claim audits, unclaimed property consulting, and other financial consulting services. Brian’s recovery audit and contract compliance audit experience has covered industries including advertising, health care, manufacturing, marketing, retail, professional services, technology, telecommunications, and universities.
Brian is a graduate of Lynchburg College and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP), and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
